Residents wearing masks

April 17, 2020

April 17, 2020

Per recommendations received from the North Dakota Department of Health resident's who are able to apply and remove masks were issued and educated on the use of the mask. Resident's will only have to wear the mask if they leave their room or when an employee comes into their room. When the resident is in their room by themselves they will not have to have the mask on. Reason for the implementation of resident wearing a mask is another added protection for prevention of the COVID-19.  Below is the verbiage from the North Dakota Department of Health:

"To address asymptomatic and presymptomatic transmission and to help prevent transmission and to help prevent transmission from infected individuals who may or may not have symptoms of COVID-19, cloth face coverings should be considered (if tolerated) and worn for all patients and visitors during duration of time in the facility regardless of symptoms...…..Residents:  Cloth face coverings hould not be placed on anyone who has trouble breathing or anyone who is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance. Patients may remove their cloth face covering when in their rooms but should put them back on when leaving their room or when others (e.g. HCP, visitors) enter the room. Implement a laundering process for he residents' cloth masks."

Bethel is not implementing cloth masks. Residents will be utilizing masks as employees are wearing.

To date Bethel has not had any positive COVID-19 resident's or employees. If we should have a positive Bethel will notify residents, families, and our employees.

Thank you again for all your support, prayers, and words of encouragement during this time.  Please let us know if you should have any questions.
