April Monthly Update
As talk continues around A New Place to Call Home, we wanted to provide more details on the process we have been engaged in for the last few years. While this process seems never ending and everyone is excitedly awaiting action on our new land, no one is more excited than we are! Our residents and staff can hardly wait for dirt to be moved, walls to go up and a ‘moving van’ to pull into our parking lot on 2nd Ave. But, before we can get there, many steps need to be taken, state and federal regulations accounted for and thoughtful planning for a building we hope will stand tall for another 76 years!
Regular meetings with our architects (EAPC) and CMAR (FCI) have led to plans being polished and we are happy to say that they are in the final stages! Once signed off on by Bethel, those plans need to be reviewed and approved by the State of ND before the CMAR can go out for bids on the actual construction. We are hoping ground breaking will be late Fall ‘25/Early Spring ‘26 (depending on winter weather).
The Bethel Foundation is taking the lead in the Capital Campaign to fund our new facility. Pamphlets and brochures outlining our plans have been printed and the Campaign Committee is starting to schedule times to meet with individuals and groups in our area. If you are part of an organization who would like more information on how to partner with us, or you yourself would like to schedule a time to talk through funding options, please contact Keefe Lovgren at the Foundation (701-572-0223) or myself here at BLNRC (701-572-6766).
We continue watching and advocating House Bill 1619, as it relates to LTC facility loan infrastructure. It would assist a handful of facilities around North Dakota who are planning for renovations and new buildings be able to secure low interest funding. Please join us in prayer around this potential.
By His Grace,
