March Monthly Update
With the second quarter starting off we have much to look forward to. The sunshine and warmer weather have been a boost and have us asking, “could it be that Spring is actually around the corner?”! And with Spring, comes Easter – our time to celebrate Resurrection and Eternal Life – and spring flowers and signs of new life!
Speaking of new life, our architectural plans for A New Place to Call Home are in final review, as are the plans for the site (grading, runoff & tree planting consideration, snow removal plans and all those needed items) – soon they will all be ready to be sent off for state approval! The Bethel Foundation is finalizing their Capital Campaign Committee and having conversations with locals who are interested in donating to this worthwhile upgrade for our community.
We are still watching House Bill 1619, which is now in the Senate, as it relates to LTC facility loan infrastructure. It would assist a handful of facilities around North Dakota who are planning for renovations and new buildings, secure low interest funding.
Between now and then, we keep busy with all things Spring for our residents – Easter decorations, goodies and parties are planned, as well as Family Easter Dinner at both BLNRC/Nelson Manor and over at Arbor House. Our weekly calendar at BLNRC is full as we have a Music Therapist who comes twice a week to work with a group in our chapel and also have some one-on-one time with residents to keep them movin’ and groovin’; games, social hour, group exercise time and of course our residents’ favorite Bingo are staples in our weekly routine.
And as the temps rise, our residents begin to venture outside in our courtyards and front patio area… and special treats and parking lot vendors start to arrive! Watch our Facebook page for updates on those special vendors. 😊
